Collection Book project
You’ll create a 24 page book (20 pages content, 4 page covers) that features a collection of something. A collection that could range to physical items like matchbooks, glassware, or toys you could photograph or something related to design and style; surface patterns, vintage clothing patterns, posters that stem from a category like protest, travel, era, etc. It could come from I want you to research and find a collection that appeals to you. I don’t want to you download a bunch of photos from Pinterest that are somebody else’s collection. I want you to curate your own and make it personal.
Specs:
- Create in InDesign
- Title page
- Introduction/about the collection
- Captions or short synopsis for each item
- Design grids on left and right side master pages for your book
- Build a folio with automatic page numbering on your master pages
- Create paragraph and character style sheets including: headline, drop head, cutline body copy, subhead, quote and dropcap. You can make more if you like.
- Print front and back and saddlestitch binding for final submission; You may use something like Blurb but I want you to print out your own to understand the production end of it.
- Also create an interactive electronic version with page navigation.
